Lohri Celebrations

Lohri, a harvest festival  was celebrated at RPS International School Sec 50 Gurugram with a lot of enthusiasm and fervor.  Lohri marks the end of the winter season .Therefore, it is a seasonal festival. It is also considered a harvest festival and it is an important day for the farmers. Amidst the cold weather of new year 2020, the school staff experienced some respite as they were involved in a spirit of celebrating Lohri, the festival of holy bonfire. The School Principal Mrs. Bindu Gupta lit the fire. Everyone worshipped the holy fire and groundnuts and sweets were also distributed to all. After Poojan, everyone danced and sang around the bonfire. Giddha and Bhangra Dance was performed by the teachers. They sang the traditional song ”Dulla Bhatti Wala”.Entire campus boomed with ecstasy as the teachers celebrated Lohri and welcomed new year with a lot of exuberance and fanfare. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” Recognition of efforts of the children embellished with appreciation is an aspect of grooming the persona of a child. Keeping in view this vision, RPS International School, sector 50, Gurugram held a special assembly to honour all the students who participated in junior inter school chess competition hosted by RPS public school, Kosli as well as the winners of the intra-school compe titions held during the winter carnival. Principal of the school, Ms. Bindu Gupta honoured all the participants of Chess Competition with certificates. School also received a trophy of ‘honour of participation.’ Prizes and certificates were given away to the winners of art and painting competition and sports activities organized during the winter carnival. Mock Fire Drill

"The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.” Through various safeguards and campaigns, RPS International School Sec 50 Gurugram strives to make its teachers and students aware and up-to-date. Keeping this in mind, a 'Mock Fire Drill' was performed on July 31st, 2019 in RPS International School Sec 50 Gurugram. As part of the endeavor, an evacuation drill was organized at the school in order to make the child ren aware of, ‘How to react in case of an emergency’? It was a successful exercise and children participated and cooperated wholeheartedly and intelligently in this initiative. The staff members were also trained how to use fire extinguisher and hose pipes at the time of need. The drill was well-planned and well-executed, there was no panic and everything went off smoothly.
